  1. What is Quality Check?

  • A quality check, often referred to as quality control (QC), is a process used to ensure that products meet specified standards and requirements before they are released or shipped. This process involves systematic inspection, testing, and evaluation of products at various stages of the production cycle to identify and rectify defect


  1. How to navigate to QC?

  • To Navigate the QC module please follow the below mentioned path

  1. What is Inspection in QA?

  • Inspection in quality assurance is the process of systematically testing items or products to ensure they meet predefined quality standards. It involves comparing the actual characteristics of an item with specified criteria to identify any deviations or defects. 


  1. What are the various stages of inspection carried out?


Incoming Quality Check

Final Quality Check

Ensuring raw materials and components meet quality standards before entering production.

Conducting a thorough inspection of finished products before they are dispatched to ensure they meet all quality requirements.





  1. Who requests for quality inspections , Inspection Call?

  • The inspection calls could be raised by different cross functional teams as per the need. For instance, to carry out incoming QC, the SCM team will raise the inspection call a

  1. Who carries out quality inspections?

  • Based on the inspection request received the Factory QC Manager will assign the inspection call to QC operator, who is expected to carry out inspection and mark the result.





  1. What is the impact if Inspection fails?

  • If the inspection fails, the item wouldn’t be made available for further consumption/dispatch. Failed items will go through rework if possible followed by re-inspection, or returned to the supplier or scrapped depending on the type of item and level of failure.


  1. What are the outcomes of the Quality inspection?

  • Below attached screen shot represents the outcome of quality inspection.







  1. What status are there in QC?

  • QC consisting of 3 tabs

  1. Pending - All qc pending items available in this tab

  2. Passed  - All quality passed items available in this tab

  3. Failed    - All rejected items in QC available in this tab




11) How Inspection carried out for the Serial ?


  • The below mentioned table refers how inspection is carried out

Every unit will have a unique serial code that would have to be individually inspected.

Every unit will have a unique serial code, however, Quality team picks sample and determines the  quality as pass/fail for the entire set

12) How Inspection carried out for the Group Serial ?


  • The below mentioned table refers how inspection is carried out

13) How is the tracking dimension carried out?

  • Tracking Dimension is an attribute stored at the item level in the item master. It identifies whether the respective item will be tracked at a unique piece level (Serial) or at a group level (Group Serial)

Serial

The serial number is created in inventory, each of it will have a unique identifier.

Example - Serial type item: PCB within television. If there are 10 PCBs in inventory, each of it will have unique identifier

Group Serial

The Serial number is created as a group If products created under group serial.


Example for Group Serial type item: Box of screws. If there are 100 screws in a box, all those 100 will be identified by a group serial at box level.




14) What is the quality dimension and types of quality dimension?

  • Quality Dimension is another attribute stored at the item level in the item master. It identifies the level at which the respective item will undergo quality testing/checks.

If Quality dimension is sample at product level these items will undergo sampling basis

Manual Approval

No specific quality inspection is needed, however, someone from quality team will manually have to mark as inspection pass

If Quality dimension is NA at product level items will undergo can be directly consumed without any quality checks





15) Can I edit the QC once passed?

  • Yes we can edit the passed inspection but it will only allow us to change the inspection  documents and inspection photos.


16) Can I inward the items partially if the tracking dimension is group?

  • Yes ZOS system will allow you to inward partial quantity as well.


17) What is the process for QC inspection?
